De EOS C70 is de eerste in Canon's cinema line-up met een RF-vatting. De camera heeft een 4K super 35MM DGO sensor (Dual Gain Output) en schiet tot wel 4K 120fps in verschillende codecs.

Door de Dual Gain Output sensor heeft de C70 een geadverteerd dynamisch bereik van wel 16 stops. Dit is mogelijk omdat de DGO-systeem twee afzonderlijke gain waardes combineert voor elke fotodiode op de sensor, waardoor ruis verminderd wordt.

De camera is compact, licht en makkelijk in gebruik door Canon's simpele menu interface en touchscreen. Bovendien heeft de camera een ingebouwde nd-filter en full-size HDMI ingang. Hierdoor is de C70 perfect voor run and gun shooters.
