La caméra EOS C70 est la première de la gamme cinéma de Canon à être équipée d'une monture RF. La caméra est équipée d'un capteur 4K super 35MM DGO (Dual Gain Output) et peut filmer jusqu'à 4K 120 ips dans différents codecs.

Grâce au capteur à double sortie de gain, la caméra C70 a une plage dynamique annoncée allant jusqu'à 16 arrêts. Cela est possible car le système DGO combine deux valeurs de gain distinctes pour chaque photodiode du capteur, ce qui réduit le bruit.

L'appareil est compact, léger et facile à utiliser grâce à l'interface de menu simple et à l'écran tactile de Canon. En outre, la caméra est dotée d'un filtre nd intégré et une entrée hdmi pleine grandeur, ce qui rend la C70 parfaite pour les photographes de type « run and gun ».
