Le Fujifilm X-H2S est un appareil photo sans miroir rapide doté d'un capteur APS-C X-Trans Stacked BSI de 26,1 Mpx et d'un processeur x5. L'appareil peut réaliser des prises de vue en rafale jusqu'à 40 ips sans blackout avec l'obturateur électronique et 15 ips avec l'obturateur mécanique avec moins de rolling shutter. Il dispose également d'un ISO de 160 - 12 800 et d'un ISO étendu de 80 - 51 200.
Il peut enregistrer en interne en open gate 6.2K en 30p en 4:2:2 10-bit et en 4K jusqu'à 120p et peut enregistrer en interne en H.264 et H.265 ainsi qu'en Apple ProRes. En outre, il est possible d'enregistrer en externe en ProRes Raw et Blackmagic Raw. Il prend également en charge le format HEIF qui a une profondeur de 10 bits et est plus petit que le JPEG. La caméra est également équipée de la fonction F-Log 2 pour une gamme dynamique plus étendue.
Il dispose d'un autofocus amélioré avec détection du sujet et d'un système de stabilisation à 7 arrêts.
En termes de connectivité, il dispose d'une HDMI complète, d'un USB-C et d'une mini-prise 3,5 mm et il est également doté du WiFi et du Bluetooth intégrés.
Les dimensions de l'appareil sont de 136 x 93 x 85 mm et il pèse 660g.
