Rotolight Titan X1 | Customer Review

22-09-2021 By T&L productions Reviews

Recently we've added the Rotolight Titan X1 to our range of products. The Titan X1 and especially the X2 are well known LED-fixtures in the high end film world. That's why we've asked Tomas Overtoom (DoP) if he wanted to use the Titan X1 for a short film.

The Cadillac of light panels
The Rotolight Titan X1 is, as far as I am concerned, the Cadillac of light panels. The electronic patented diffusion and RGBWW saturated colors make for a very convenient light that you can set to your liking without color filters.

We used the Rotolight Titan X1 for a short film, with a Neon Noir style. Here the use of color is essential. The Rotolight is really perfect for this kind of production.

We were looking for light to illuminate a space in motivated magenta. We had a neon flamingo against the wall and we used it as a fictitious source. We enlarged the Rotolight as a source with a 5-in-1 bounce and market clamps

Next, we used the Rotolight Titan X1 to simulate a darkroom. Here, hard light was just what was needed to make the wooden slats of the room visible in shadows (matching Neon Noir). We used a pavolight RGB tube as practical to motivate the red light of the darkroom.

The Rotolight Titan X1 is a fine lamp to work with. Flexible and an intuitive user interface. The built-in diffusion is also very nice for quick adjustments. The Rotolight Titan X1 is highly recommended for anyone who loves quality light.
