The Sigma 50mm f/1.4 DG HSM Art Lens for Leica L covers up to a Full-frame sensor, has a aperture with 9 blades and is equipped with a fast autofocus, thanks to the A Hyper Sonic AF Motor found in most of Sigma’s ART series lenses. These autofocus motors are lightning fast. Focusing has never been so easy.
In addition, the various coating layers result in little to no flaring and minimal chromatic aberration. It has 13 lens elements divided over 8 groups. This results in a clinical sharpness that captures the best details. This sharpness does come with some properties that you will want to take into account when using the lens. One of these properties is the sharper bokeh (out-of-focus). The bokeh is normally softer for fast lenses in this category, but the complex composition of the glass results in a sharper outcome. The angle of view is 46.8°.
The minimum focus distance is 40 cm. The lens dimensions are 85.4 x 99.9 mm and it weighs 815 g. This lens series by Sigma is incredibly extensive, making it easy to compose an efficient set of lenses that are optically close in terms of characteristics.
