The Nikon Z MC 105mm F/2.8 VR S is a macro lens designed for full frame cameras with a Z-mount. With an aperture of f2.8, the lens performs very well in low light. It has a reproduction ratio of 1:1 which means that the subject is represented in its true size. Furthermore, the minimum focusing distance is of 29 cm, which makes for very nice close ups.
This Nikon Z focuses very fast and precisely thanks to the Dual Motor Multi Focus STM system. The multifocus system also reduces chromatic aberration and color fringing, which are common in macro lenses. It also has an image stabilization of 4.5 stops for smooth images.
The lens is composed of 16 elements in 11 groups and has an iris of 9 blades for a nice round bokeh. The image quality is at a high level: this is due to the excellent glass, but also by the Nano Crystal and ARNEO coatings. These prevent ghosting, flare and reflections, for example in backlit situations.
The dimensions of the lens are 85 x 140 mm, it has a filter size of 62mm and weighs 630g.
