The Nikon Z 400mm F4.5 VR S is a fairly compact super telephoto lens designed for full frame cameras with a Z-mount. With a center of gravity closer to the sensor, that lens is well balanced and feels good in the hand. 

This Nikon Z focuses lightning fast and precisely. It also has powerful built-in VR for stabilization of 5.5 stops, and of 6.0 stops in combination with the Z9, making handheld shooting even easier. 

The lens is composed of 19 elements in 13 groups and has an iris of 9 blades for a nice round bokeh. The image quality is at a high level: this is due to the excellent glass, but also by the Nano Crystal coatings. These prevent ghosting, flare and reflections, for example in backlight. 

The dimensions of the lens are 104 x 234.5 mm, it has a front filter of 95 mm and weighs 1160 g.
