The DZOFILM X‑Tract 18‑28mm T8 FF Probe Zoom Lens (PL) is a full‑frame probe lens specifically designed for close-ups and macro cinematography — ideal for product, tabletop, food, and macro shots. With a focal length range of 18 to 28 mm, it combines wide-angle capability with macro flexibility, allowing you to switch between spacious environments and tight detail shots.

Thanks to the extremely short minimum focus distance — as close as 6 mm from the front of the lens — and a maximum magnification ratio of 2.1:1, you can capture subjects with microscopic detail, making textures and surface structures visible that are normally invisible. This makes the X‑Tract lens perfect for water drops, insects, textures, or any subject where detail and proximity are crucial.

The optics are built for maximum sharpness and minimal distortion: the lens includes both ED and HRI/ED optical elements to suppress chromatic aberration and spherical distortion. Across the entire zoom range, distortion remains limited to ±2%, resulting in crisp, flat images with natural colors and clean rendering — a rarity in probe lenses.

For filmmakers, the X‑Tract lens provides additional flexibility: the focus, zoom, and iris feature 0.8 MOD cine‑gears, making them compatible with follow-focus systems and lens motors. The focus throw is smooth and long (300°), allowing precise focus pulls — even in macro or low-light scenarios — and is ideal for dynamic camera movements or complex setups.
